Re: stop sign at intersection of S. Prospect and Cliff. Every day I see at least one car on S. Prospect St., going either direction, blow right through this intersection. Some slow down and deliberately ignore the sign; others drive at full speed, as if they didn't even see it. It is an area with a lot of pedestrians, and these drivers are endangering scores of people. Please consider a "Stop Ahead" sign northbound and southbound, chevron markings on the blacktop, and any other measures to increase safety.

Agreed! This intersection is dangerous in a way that can be mitigated through increased attention to signage and other traffic controls.

I agree as well. Especially late at night I hear cars accelerating to what sound like very high speeds.

I agree as well. The same is true on Summit Street where there seems to be an increase in speeding cars and poor attention to the stop at Maple. It seems there is no effort by the city to enforce traffic speeds or signage.

Agreed I see this issue every morning while walking the dog. I think there is an increase in not stopping when it is dark. I see the same vehicles violate the stop on a regular basis.

I agree - and this always becomes more of an issue once the college population returns at the end of August.
We’ve lost two cats to cars traveling on South Prospect at 40+ mph - it’s a 25 mph zone, and we live just a couple of houses away from the stop sign at Cliff Street.

suggestion: something additional on the stop signs, like flashing lights (obviously with care to not disturb people who live nearby; they can be directional, and at least the UVM side of the street, has no houses nearby)

Agree - I see drivers blow past this intersection all the time while walking the dog. Happens a lot at night or in low lighting conditions. Hard to say for certain if this is happening deliberately or not, since the intersection is also fairly poorly lit and there's currently minimal signs alerting people of it. Either way, I think adding more warning signs of some kind would help. As well as a crosswalk/painted crosswalk lines going across the street (especially going east-west from Cliff to Redstone)
