There is an open ticket for this issue, ticket number: 9722393. It has been acknowledged and open for 6 month. Every time an new ticket about this issue is entered a Public Work crew comes by and tries to work on it. Usually after after the rain stopped. The water drains and evaporates slowly. Then the ticket gets marked as resolved. But nothing is resolved since the issue reoccurs after a rainfall again (search the history of the ticket).
I believe that Public Works department does itself a disservice in the way this issue is managed. They should honestly communicate what it actually takes to fix this. In April one of the crew told my that drain has collapsed. They pulled out some brick stones and other debris. The continue flushing of the drain does not seem to resolve the issue. If this is a larger project, why not say so? Why not communication when the estimate is to get this issue resolved?
This would save you to deal with the reoccurring issue, deploying resources to stage an effort that has no chance of succeeding. Think of lost opportunities, what else could that do instead? Interacting with frustrated citizens that feel lead on by your communication.
You are also undermining the SeeClickFix and your department, it does not encourage one to submit tickets.
By providing real information on issues, you could empower citizens to escalate the issues to their city councilor, major or department head.
Please, do not repeat the process you have done the last 6 month. Gives us a honest estimate what needs to be done and when it can be done.

I have spoken to public works employees that have come to clean the pipes after I put a ticket in. My understanding is that the pipes or tunnel has collapsed. When I looked down the drain after the grade was removed, you could see a brick stone wall that partially collapsed. This prevents any flushing. There are two more drains south of the one mentioned in the ticket that also flood when it rains. I was told by the DPW employees, this was due to the fact that they all feed through the same (collapsed) line into the larger sewer system. The DPW would come every spring to flush the drain, and that took care of it for a couple of months. The collection of debris seems to be a secondary effect, due to the faulty drainage. Justifiable DPW does not attempt to flush the drains. I believe, this is a larger project with the scope of rebuilding the drain.
What frustrates me is that there is no transparency if such a repair will be or is scheduled.
