This is going to be an infiltration system in the greenbelt in front of #25. Water will drain to this area and infiltrate into the ground, with some storage available in a perforated pipe that will be buried underneath. That system will not be tied into the main system, but we have conducted soil borings to confirm that this area is sandy enough and will infiltrate properly. We have also marked out another Digsafe area at the end of the street, near the intersection with North Street. We will be installing a new catch basin there that will drain to the main system, but it will not be happening at the same time at this infiltrator work because our crews are spread thin at the moment.

Hi Dana,
This is the plan for now, and if it doesn't work then we will reassess again. The purpose of this system is to give the water a place to infiltrate within the greenbelt. I can't speak to any claims for reimbursement that may have been made for foundation damage, as I was not aware this was an issue. My understanding has been this was an on-street flooding issue. If you've made a claim for that reimbursement please contact me directly with that information so I can follow up with the appropriate department. jcalvi@burlingtonvt.gov or (802) 540-1748.
Thank you. -Jenna
