WHAT was the cause and what was the resolution?

Thank you for your interest in this issue. The customer phoned at 1:30 to our office concerning this issue shortly after doing a see click fix. We asked if they had spoken to the owner of the property and they said yes that they were not doing anything at this location. We checked our Fire Sprinkler Service Notices and nothing was posted for today for private sector work in the area. There is construction in the area and we let the customer know that something may have been used and not reported which can cause discoloration. The customer will try running water for a bit longer and see if it clears and we asked that she contact us if the problem persists.

When I called DPW Customer Service I was advised to wait a while to allow sediment to settle back down in the pipes and then try running water again to clear the water. This worked. DPW Customer Service also directed me to a link on their website which lists notifications they have received of activities (Fire Sprinkler Notifications) that may disrupt water pressure and/or discolor water (https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/dpw/fire-sprinkler-notifications). However, I was also told that businesses don't always do this as was apparently the case this time.
