Please immediately remove the invasive species callers pear that we just saw planted on the new champlain parkway by Distefano Landscaping folks. These are extremely invasive and banned in many states already. We already have buckthorn taking over our city and can’t risk another. we need to do better!

Callery Pear? Quick wiki search and I am confused as to why DPW thinks this is an appropriate replacement for all of the native trees you removed for this road project. “ the Callery pear, is a species of pear tree native to China and Vietnam, in the family Rosaceae. It is most commonly known for its cultivar 'Bradford' and its offensive odor, widely planted throughout the United States and increasingly regarded as an invasive species.” Trying to stick it to the neighbors a bit more with an offensive odor producing tree?
